Young Carers Youth Panel
Our Youth Panel brings together young carers from across Oxfordshire to shape our services through peer-led feedback and to campaign on the issues that matter most to them. Supported by our Senior Youth Workers, the panel is an optional opportunity for young carers aged 13+, offering an extra layer of involvement alongside our regular youth groups. Recently, our panel took part in the national All-Party Parliamentary Group Inquiry by Carers Trust. They helped create a powerful video and co-wrote a letter, signed by over 1,200 young carers across the UK, calling for better support and fairer futures.nnIt’s all about giving young carers a voice and making sure it’s heard.
Meet our youth panel!

Meet Kace
I’m Kace. I started with be free young carers when I was 8 years old and was supported by them all the way through my childhood.
I was enthusiastic about being part of the youth panel as I wanted to give back to the charity and help young carers as much as i possibly can so that they can continue to receive the best possible support they deserve.

Meet Zoe
I’m Zoe, I’m 16 and I’ve been apart of BFYC for over 8 years now and am so exited to be part of the Youth Panel! I really enjoy public speaking and meeting new people. My hopes are that the Panel help young carers feel more confidence going into adulthood and I cant wait to start acting on this!

Meet Keyaan
I’m Keyaan, I wanted to be involved with the Youth Panel as I am deeply involved with young carers acrosss the UK. Independently advocacy for young carers to make it mandatory for a young carer group for all schools across the UK. Being able to support in the youth panel is a huge achievement for me and hopefully the changes we can make as a team together!

Meet Emilia
I’m Emilia, I am a 16 year old young carer who cares for her twin sister and her dad. I really wanted to be part of the youth panel to try and help other young carers have the best childhood and experience possible. I am a very open and proud young carer and I want others to be able to feel that way to.
