Be Free Young Carers is an amazing charity that seeks to improve the lives of young carers living in the South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse Districts.   

Based on the Harwell Campus, Didcot, it is the only specialist charity supporting young carers in Oxfordshire. 

We wish to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and outgoing Young Carers Youth Worker, who, as a member of the team, will provide support to young carers and plan and deliver a varied programme of social activities and trips, working directly with young carers. Join our small and friendly team and you’ll see the impact of the charity’s work first-hand. 

You will have responsibility for: 

  • engaging with young carers, providing support and advice specifically for young carers, liaising with families, schools, other organisations and agencies as necessary; 
  • planning, managing and developing a programme of social activities, trips and training and contributing towards the overall development of our service. 

Using your excellent organisation and communication skills, this is a varied and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who enjoys working with young people. 

You will need access to a car and a valid, full driving licence.

Fundraising Co-ordinator – CLICK HERE TO APPLY

  • Location BFYC HQ Harwell Campus, Didcot (hybrid and remote opportunities available)
  • Full-Time, Permanent
  • Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week – with occasional evening/weekend work)
  • £28,000 – £32,000 basic salary
  • Closing Date – Open to applications until further notice

We are looking to recruit a passionate and value-driven Fundraising Co-ordinator to work closely with the existing team
to identify and develop new opportunities to increase the charities income.

As Fundraising Co-ordinator, the focus of your job will be to work closely with the CEO and Fundraiser & Events Co-ordinator to secure gifts and grants from charitable trusts, foundations and public bodies to support the growth of the charity. A big part of the role will involve drafting, submitting and managing the process of funding applications, liaising with trusts, foundations and grant making bodies, identifying new ways to generate income, reporting on funding projects and monitoring KPIs to meet funding deadlines.

Our sole focus is supporting but also improving the lives of young carers, it is absolutely essential that the successful candidate has a passion for making a difference to the local community and is really excited by the opportunity to make a difference.


  • Experience of working within a fundraising capacity
  • The confidence to build relationships and good overall communication skills
  • A strong level of English (both written and verbal)
  • The ability to manage your own diary, work under pressure and also keep on
    top of deadlines for multiple projects
